Diving Down

An adventurer captured during days of peace has shook the guild, and a set of experienced adventurers have set off towards the woods! There, through days of arduous travel they found what seemed to be a ritual site, a magical pillar floating just above the ground.

There, they opted not to topple the thing, as the voices inside of it bode ill, and instead solved its riddle, diving down into the chasms below… where they found a family. A father trapped in his study, and a mother preparing dinner, punishing the aforementioned patriarch for- well for something..

Dinner was not all pleasant however, this lady so keen on her manners was insulted thrice. First by rudeness, second by distrusting her food, and third by a well-timed dive onto the table by the Lizardfolk Cleric.. all hell broke loose, and the true colours of this family was shown!

A succubus and her Fiendish children, subservient all to the patriach locked in his study.. the fight was brutal and explosive, but with great effort it was won… yet victory was not whole. Amidst the Chaos, great Warlock of the guild, Quam the Ancient was slain, his throat ripped out by the Devils- only timely intervention by the magicks of the grave kept his soul from fleeing to the patron he serves, and allowed the guild’s healers to bring his body back to working order…

The escape was not easy, and a promise was made to the Cult’s leader to let him go free, which was fulfilled a few days later.. all the adventurers were safe and sound, but the cult was still at large, their leader fully able to rebuild..

Goblin Peace…

Having reformed goblins and orcs join our noble Adventurers Guild gave the opportunity to create peaceful relations with the forest goblins. Interrupting a large Goblin meeting, it seemed the goblins had joined the kobolds in worshipping the Sleeping Dragon, but disagreed among themselves whether the Dragon spoke through dreams, the High Priest, or Starstones. The Starstone faction was quickly dispatched and brought back in the fold by breaking their holy starstone and eating it (by the the present thieflings). One of our noble.. thieflings accepted the offered powers by the voices in his head/stomach and quickly cowed the remaining goblins into a peace alliance with NewTown.

Dispatch (2022/6/8)

No Free Lunch

Brave adventures entered the abandoned hallow underneath the huge tree in the forest. Inside a large burial chamber filled with decayed goods, a large hoard of silver pieces and a magical talking flying dagger called ”Junior”. The strange roots lining the chamber collapsed the the floor after being stabbed, causing our intrepid heroes to fall down and end up in some kind of mud spa. There our heroic explorers encountered some robed men who asked them sternly to lower their weapons and leave. Fearing.. fearing what again?.. our quick-acting saviors attacked these robed men and promptly disengaged tactically. However the urban ranger was left behind (or returned) never to be heard from again while the robed men quickly caused the hallways to collapse behind them. There was no other choice for our valiant adventurers to return quickly to the Guild and report the situation. (TBC)

Farmers Problem

A farmer was missing. With much diplomacy he was found out to have been taken and petrified by a Cockatrice and promptly rescued.

A trek through Shadows and Iron

The adventurers of the Dunes guild determined to locate the vault filled with treasures as told by the Dragon Kalalos, trekked through the great woods to the north of Tiheg. It was an inhospitable place, dense, fraught with ice, mud and dangers in the night. Nevertheless, courage persevered, and the journey continued.

On the 9th Day of trekking, passing many-a-ruin, and terrains most dangerous, they came upon a small clearing in the woods. The safety was deceitful however, as four red-skinned creatures clad in black assaulted the adventurers. Their first strike was devastating, but the eldritch powers, magics, strength and faith in the world exhibited by the brave Heroes of the Dunes guild had the creatures slain, with one kept as a prisoner.

After an exchange, saving the life of this prisoner, the location of a Hobgoblin recruiting camp was found, and an item retrieved, which we are able to copy upon their return: An immovable rod.

The adventure continued, with a derring-do sneak past a large, ugly Ogre, a clever distraction ensuring a fight was not on the hands of our adventurers, and their ingenuity destroying the traps laid by Dwarves of the past as they entered the vault… Its guardians, a Bugbear looting party were quickly dispatched, and the vault remains to be opened.. a challenge for days to come!

Graveyard Shift

As the morning was coming the heroes come out of there beds and the best heroes named Tobi saw a quest that looked suspicious. I saw that the graveyard was in trouble so I alerted my comrades Leo a bowmen the same for Dalyor and a new companion Nemeia who is a monk. So we set out on a quest to get to the bottom of this. Once at the grave yard we were greeted by leggy the graveyard man he explained what had happened and said that the graves where dug out from the inside out and that there where already about 40 to 50 escapees after a good taste on the necklaces that read they where a no magic item placed on the corpses when they are buried. After a good investigation we found a misty fog which was very thick and we decided to rope each other to an anchor point but when leggy heard the piton hit the tomb he ran out naked because I advised him to take a shower whilst we are investigating. He said not to do it and just put it into the ground but stubborn as he was Dalyor he just kept going after some back and forth we fixed it and went into the cloud we heard nothing and then Dalyor and Leo pulled there weapon so I did to apparently there where zombies. We found the wall in the mist climbed over it without any hurdles and we saw a conga line of zombie going in to the forest we killed a couple and followed the rest into the forest. They led us to a cave where some sort of ritual was going on and of course as the heroes I stopped the ritual by casting dispel magic but the magic man didn’t like that so he send a lot of zombies our way but we killed al of them and saved the city.

Kalalos, the warden
A great ally was found! Amidst the dunes high and mighty, that shield the town from the great seas of our world, a brave creature made its home. This Dragon, bronze in hue and keen on disguising itself as an Elven warrior with two blades, which it used in the past to observe the guild, has offered its services in beating back the tide of clockwork and hobgoblins that so desperately seek to destroy our progress.

In exchange it asks not much, simply that we share our knowledge and do not stray onto the path of evil, so it may work as our mentor and guardian of the Island.
So as to aid us in the quest to defeat the Hobgoblins, it has urged speed, and to come together as a guild and choose our next course of action. Few weeks remain until he forsees the problem growing too large..

The quest to find this majestic being was not a difficult one, though it was marred by Jhanna’s interference, for her plant monstrosities sought to keep us out of the Dune area, and had the goal of claiming our Kobold companion so he may not lead us to the lair of the Dragon any longer. Through cunning strategies, the plant-beasts were beaten back, and the glorious sanctum reached.

Dispatches (2022/5/18)

Crash and Burn

A long fight behind them, the heroes look back to find themselves victorious. Esteban and his Goliaths have successfully copied the design notes, and history of the Starstone engines used to make metal walk, and everyone has kept life and limb. Clockwork from all over the old Dwarven workshop streamed towards the central room, as if being called towards the battle they fought long ago, which left the Enginseers slaughtered.

In this room a diary was found, teaching much of the reason the clockwork were created and how they were twisted and corrupted through forbidden knowledge. A war under the peaks, ended with this clash of titans, an echo of the past. They fought of Hammerers and Arbalesters, soldiers and as the ground shook, the mighty Mechanicore, a huge amalgamation of flesh, starstone and Brass, marching ever so slowly towards the exposed adventurers.

Just in time, as resources and will to fight were running low, did they all manage to escape, with new quests before them: Find a way to disable the clockwork, placate Jhanna, and escort the Kobold they had found home…
